Social Media Breakfast

With all of the wonderful things the internet and technology has to offer, I have to say that one of my favorites things that it’s brought is social media. I’m a HUGE fan of social media sites (shout out to Instagram!), and wanted to incorporate a recipe that brought in my love for social media. This is my Social Media breakfast. My favorite part of this recipe is its simplicity. All of the ingredients are fairly common, and might already be lying around your house! “SHARE” these delicious social media breakfast ideas on your social media sites to impress all your friends! @tag and #hashtag My Cupcake Addiction!

Instructions:

YouTube Pop Tart

  1. Place a piece of parchment paper on your bench.
  2. Cut a room temperature white chocolate square into the shape of a triangle.white choc play button
  3. Dollop strawberry jam onto a Pop Tart. Spread it out so that the Pop Tart is completely covered in jam.social media breakfast jelly
  4. Place the play button on the center of the Pop Tart.
  5. Use a knife to remove the Pop Tarts from the parchment paper, and transfer them to a serving plate.

Pinterest Apple

  1. Use a skewer to scratch in the shape of the Pinterest letter. Have the Pinterest logo in view for reference.pinterest apple
  2. Peel away some of the skin from that apple using that skewer.
  3. Use a sharp knife to carve into the outline and clean up the edges.
  4. Smear cream cheese directly over the letter P.pinterest cream cheese
  5. With a paper towel, wipe off the top of the apple so that it’s clean.
    Holds 2 hours at room temperature, or can be covered in plastic wrap and put in the fridge.pinterest apple final

Instagram Toast:

  1. Toast your bread lightly so that it’s just a light caramel brown.
  2. Spoon Nutella into the top of your sprinkles lid. Tap the lid on the bench to level off the Nutella.nutella cap
  3. Cut off ⅓ of your Hershey’s.
  4. Cover the top ⅓ of your toast with Nutella.nutella spread
  5. Cut your rainbow strap to size and place it on the top left corner.
  6. Place the ⅔ of Hershey’s on the right side of the toast.
  7. Place the sprinkles lid in the center.instagram-toast-final

Facebook Waffles:

  1. Preheat your waffle maker to the lowest browning setting.
  2. Place a piece of parchment paper over the Facebook template.
  3. Place soft cream cheese into your piping bag with a fine open tip.
  4. Pipe the Facebook, “F,” with your cream cheese. Use the back of the knife to smooth out any letters.facebook-waffle-pipe
  5. Place another piece of parchment paper on top. Lightly smooth out the parchment paper on top of the F.
  6. Transfer to the freezer for about 10-15 minutes.
  7. Stir blue food coloring to your waffle batter until it’s nicely combined. If you find the blue isn’t dark enough, you can also add a drop of black to darken it up.
  8. Spray your waffle maker with nonstick spray.
  9. Pour your waffle batter directly into the waffle maker to make your waffle.facebook-waffle-batter
  10. Once cooked take your waffles out of the waffle maker, and take your cream cheese “F,” out of the freezer, and peel the letter off of the parchment paper.
  11. Place the “F,” on the right side of the waffle.
  12. Place a blueberry into each waffle square.facebook-waffle-final
  13. Drizzle with syrup!

What You’ll Need:

YouTube Pop Tart

  • Strawberry Pop Tarts
  • White chocolate square
  • Strawberry jam (I recommend putting it through a strainer + a drop of red food coloring)
  • Spoon
  • Sharp knife
  • Parchment paper

Pinterest Apple:

  • 1 red apple
  • Cream Cheese
  • Butter knife
  • Sharp Knife
  • Skewer
  • Paper towel

Instagram Toast:

  • Nutella
  • Bread
  • Dark chocolate Hershey
  • Rainbow Strap
  • Sprinkles container lid
  • Spoon
  • Sharp knife
  • Toaster
