Marvel Avengers Breakfast

Confession: I’m a total cake nerd, but I’m not a cool-geek, superhero nerd. I realize now that I used the Green Lantern logo instead of the Hulk. Of course, Green Lantern is DC and the Hulk is Marvel — a rivalry as old as time. It’s a mistake that many consider unforgivable, but I hope the comic book foodies out there will find the power from within to give me a pass on this one! For those moving forward with this recipe, use the radiation logo, or if you feel like you can handle the line work the fist logo.

I used a shake and bake mix for both the pancakes and the waffles. The mix is perfect as is for the pancakes, but for the waffles they need to be a slightly thicker consistency. I did this by adding melted butter and an egg to the mixture. Then, of course, shake it up mix!

Instructions:

The Incredible Hulk Apple:

  1. Press a circle cutter into side of the green apple.
  2. Then, use a skewer to etch out the outline for the Incredible Hulk logo.

  3. Smear whipped cream into the etched out logo. Use a tissue or napkin to wipe away any excess whipped cream.

  4. Transfer to the fridge before serving.

Ironman Grilled Cheese:

  1. Place an Ironman template directly on a yellow piece of cheese. Then, use a knife to trace around the template.

  2. Place a piece of bread in the toaster. Remove when finished.
  3. Once toasted, pipe on tomato sauce/ketchup directly onto the toast.

  4. Use a knife to spread the sauce out, leaving part of the center white.
  5. Place the piece of cheese in that center piece. Then, place the rest of the jaw right below it.

Captain America Pancakes:

  1. Slice your strawberries so that they are completely flat on one side.
  2. Place whipped cream into a snap seal bag. Cut off a fine corner tip. Then, on a piece of parchment paper, pipe a 5 pointed star. Fill in the star.

  3. Let the star set in the freezer.
  4. Cut a straight line along the top of five strawberries, cutting the bottom tip off from the rest of the berry. Do this until you have enough berries to cover your pancake.
  5. Line your strawberry edges around the outside of your pancake. Then, create an inner circle with the pointed edge of the strawberries.

  6. Use your snap seal bag with whipped cream to fill the gap between the two strawberry circles.
  7. Fill the center of the pancake with blueberries.

  8. Remove the whipped cream star from the freezer. Place it directly on top of the blueberries.
  9. Enjoy with maple syrup!

Thor Hammer Waffles:

  1. Add 50 grams of melted butter directly into your pancake shake and bake mix.
  2. Whisk an egg in a bowl. Also pour this directly into the pancake shake and bake mix.
  3. Stick the lid on and shake the mix thoroughly.

  4. Spray a heated waffle maker with nonstick spray.
  5. Pour mixture into the four sections of the waffle maker.
  6. Once cooked, remove waffle from the waffle maker.
  7. Use a knife to cut ⅓ of the waffle. Place it at an angle so the two pieces form a sideways “T.”

  8. Place Nutella in a snap seal bag. Cut the corner tip with a pair of scissors. Pipe Nutella all over the bottom of the Thor handle.
  9. Pour maple syrup over the top of the Thor hammer.
